A ceiling has collapsed at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London. A large section of ornate plasterwork fell on the audience during a performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. 76 people are reported to be injured, seven of them seriously.

If you are a UK tax payer the Association as a Registered Charity is able to reclaim 25p for every £1 you pay in your subscription. This is because your subscription is considered as a donation.   It costs you nothing, but is extremely important for the ABTT as it provides valuable extra funds with which to carry out its work on behalf of the Theatre industry.  By being able to reclaim Gift Aid the Association is able to keep the subscriptions as low as possible.

Andy Collier died on Friday 12 July following a heart attack while travelling to an ALD meeting in central London.

This appreciation is based on Andy's (as ever self-effacing) autobiographical sketch, as published in the Profiles series by Entertainment Technology Press in 2000.

With judging taking place throughout the day and final decisions made late in the afternoon, winners were presented with their hook-clamp trophies in the Truman Brewery's Corbet Place Bar, in front of exhibitors, guests and ABTT members.

The ABTT is saddened to hear of the passing of Richard R Greenough who died peacefully on Thursday the 12th of August aged 88 after a short illness.

Richard was a Designer at the BBC in the early days of Live TV of "Quatermass Experiment" and moved on to be Head of Design for ATV for many shows including the "Sunday Night at London Palladium". He was pleased to work with Liberace and proud to be asked by Lew Grade to take Bob Hope to Casablanca.
