Ivan Lewis appointed shadow culture secretary

The appointment comes as Ed Miliband announces his first shadow ministerial team as leader of the Labour party.
Prior to being elected an MP, Lewis worked in the voluntary sector for Outreach, Contact Community Group and as chief executive of the Manchester Jewish Federation.
He does not appear to have any close links to the culture sector, although he has previous indicated his support of government subsidy for the arts.
Tessa Jowell - a former culture secretary -has been appointed shadow secretary of state for the Olympics in the reshuffle.
